"The Exorcism of Emily Rose" may have been terrifying, but the real story that inspired it is far more chilling. After Anneliese Michel ate spiders, bit the head off a dead bird, and licked her own urine from the floor, her parents and a cadre of Catholic priests subjected her to 10 months of grueling exorcisms before she died at a weight of just 68 pounds. The film stars Jennifer Carpenter and is one of my favorite films on the subject.
